  • Trips are offered at additional cost on the weekend before and after the conference (September 9, 10 or 16, 17).
    On Wednesday afternoon the conference ends early – an afternoon excursion will be offered if there are 3 or more participants.

    Group tour to Jerusalem & The Dead Sea – full day (minimum 5 participants)

    Depart Dan Carmel at 08:00

    The tour of Jerusalem, begins at the summit of Mount of Olives, enjoy a breathtaking view of the walled old city, and the temple mount with its golden dome mosque. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane the site where Jesus was arrested see the church of all nations. Now pass the monuments of Abshalom and Zachria in the Kidron valley.  Your walking tour of the old city of Jerusalem includes: the famous Western Wall, the holiest site in the Jewish world it is believed to be the only remnants of the temple of Jerusalem. It is known as the Wailing Wall because traditionally the Jews have come here mourn the destruction of the temple. The Wall was originally built by King Herod the great in 20bc. Then, walk through the Arab Bazaar to the Via Dolorosa believed by many to be the route Jesus followed as he carried his cross to Calvary. Visit the church of the Holy Sepulcher on the hill of Golgotha marking the site of Jesus crucifixion, burial and resurrection. Before leaving pass some of the national landmarks: the Knesset (Israeli parliament), the Israel Museum with the Shrine of the Book the Supreme Court and the president residence. 

    On the way to Dead Sea ascend the beautiful Judean Hills. Pass the Ramot suburb of Jerusalem and then descend 3600 feet towards the Dead Sea – the lowest point on earth! To your north you will pass the Jericho the oldest city in the world. Before traveling miles of desert and arid rock to arrive at point from which the Qumran Caves are clearly visible. In 1947 a Bedouin shepherd boy discovered the oldest known biblical manuscripts in the world the Dead Sea scrolls. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea and stop to have the opportunity to experience the sensation of floating upon the waters of the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea has salt eight times more than the ocean and some say its curative powers can reduce skin allergies and have a smoothing effect on the nervous system.

    Tour to Nazareth, Galilee & Golan- full day (minimum 5 participants)

    Your journey takes you to Nazareth, explore the basilica of the Annunciation, it was on this site where the Archangel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would be the mother of the Messiah. Outstanding mosaics of the Madonna and Child cover the walls on the second floor. Next see the church of St. Joseph built over chambers that housed the Carpentry shop. Walk through the Bazaar of Nazareth, drive by the white stone fountain known as Mary’s well. Next drive through canna where Jesus performed his first miracle turning water into wine. On towards the Sea of Galilee to visit Tabgha- where Jesus multiplied the 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread and fed 5000 of his followers.  Then to the Mount of Beatitude where Jesus preached famous sermon.. Now to Capernaum located on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and considered the center of Jesus’ ministry, It was here where Jesus gathered his first disciples, walked on the water, preached and performed many of his miracles, see the ruins of an ancient synagogue from the 5th century and the house of St. Peter.  Then relax and enjoy leisurely lunch on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. After lunch, ascend the Golan Heights to Shalom Vista point, built next to an old Syrian bunker.  Enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire Sea of Galilee and the Jordan Valley.  Descend the scenic serpent road along the borders of Israel, Jordan and Syria.

    Our last stop is the Yardenit, the Baptismal site on the Jordan River.

    Drive back to Dan Carmel.

    Acre (Acco) and Rosh Hanikra- Half day (minimum 5 participants)

    Depart Haifa at 9am or 2pm and drive to Acre (Acco), visit and explore a city its history dates back almost 4000 years ago, and which played pivotal role during the crusaders period.  Experience the Medieval atmosphere. Descend into the headquarter of the knights of St. John to see the Crypt-made of paved stone floors and, near, there is a stairway leading to a long underground passage believed to be an escape tunnel built by the Crusaders. Return to surface and explore the Ottoman phase of Acco: see the 18th century Turkish Bazaar, stop at Kahan El-Umdan, and the picturesque Pisan port. Then drive to Rosh-Hanikra on the Mediterranean. The most western northern place in Israel. Enjoy a cable car ride to visit the grottos carved into the white choke stone..

    Return to Haifa.
